Sekhar's family hails from Hanamkonda, Warangal District Telangana. He studied b in St. Patrick's High School. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology. He later went to the Rutgers University, and pursued a Master's degree in Computer Sciences. After a brief career in the IT industry at CITI-CORP, He graduated with a Master of Fine Arts program from Howard University, Washington, D.C
